ABOUT US

Practical local trade connections — with clear limits.

How TradieToday works, what to expect, and the checks that still belong to the customer and tradesperson.

01

The purpose of the site

TradieToday is an early-stage local job marketplace focused on Melbourne. Homeowners can describe trade work while tradespeople can explore opportunities suited to their skills and availability. We also provide practical guidance for comparing quotes, choosing the correct trade and describing jobs clearly.

Our goal is to make the first conversation more informative, not to replace formal contracts, qualified inspections or the existing regulation of building trades.

02

For homeowners

Choose a trade, write down observable symptoms, describe the desired outcome and state the suburb and timeframe. Add dimensions or photos where helpful, without revealing sensitive documents or access information in a public description.

Submitting work requires a functioning account. If the posting page says sign-in is not configured, the request has not been accepted by the platform. Follow the job-posting guide to prepare the information rather than assuming the job was published.

03

For tradespeople

Browse the current listings and filter by category and urgency. Jobs depend on actual submissions: TradieToday cannot promise a particular number of new leads or that a listed job will still be available.

Before proposing work, check whether the task fits your authorisations, insurance and capacity. Ask for missing site conditions and make clear what a quote includes and excludes.

04

What we do not verify or guarantee

An appearance on the site is not evidence of professional licensing, insurance, identity verification or trade quality. Check electrical and plumbing authorisations with the relevant Victorian authorities. Compare quotes in writing and confirm what paperwork is required.

Payments are not currently handled by TradieToday. Do not rely on unsolicited messages claiming your money is secured or will be released by the platform.

05

When to seek other help

Potential fire, dangerous wiring, major water damage or similar urgent hazards require emergency services or qualified utilities, not a marketplace response. For consumer rights and quote guidance, consult Consumer Affairs Victoria.

If login, job posting or listings fail, the help page explains what to check and what the site is currently able to do.
