Last updated: 25 October 2026. These terms are intended for a Melbourne-focused Australian marketplace.
About TradieToday and these terms
Effective 25 October 2026. TradieToday is an early-stage online marketplace and information service focused on metropolitan Melbourne. These terms apply when you browse, register, post work, apply as a tradesperson or use another part of tradietoday.au.
“TradieToday”, “we” and “us” refer to the website operator. We help people discover jobs and connect; we are not automatically the contractor, homeowner, employer, emergency responder, licensed tradesperson or party performing the work.
Accounts and eligibility
Provide accurate information, keep your credentials private and use only an account you are authorised to operate. You are responsible for activity under your account except where the law provides otherwise. You must be at least 18 to make a contractual job arrangement through the platform.
We use Clerk for account authentication. Google sign-in, if selected, is subject to Google and Clerk processes. We may suspend or restrict access for fraud, abuse, security risks or breaches of these terms, subject to applicable law.
For homeowners and job posters
Post genuine, lawful jobs and provide enough accurate information for tradespeople to assess scope, location area, urgency and budget. Do not publish access codes, private identity documents, bank information, another person’s private information or misleading emergency claims.
You are responsible for checking who you hire, their licence, registration, insurance, references, scope and written quote before work starts. Confirm fees, conditions, cancellation arrangements and required permits directly with the tradesperson. A listing or response does not guarantee availability, suitability, completion or a particular price.
For tradespeople and businesses
Represent your identity, qualifications, licences, ABN, experience, insurance, capacity, service area and availability accurately. Only offer work you are lawfully authorised and competent to undertake. Maintain required permissions and insurance throughout the work.
Profile submission or self-reported credentials are not the same as independent verification. Certain bidding and directory functions require platform review and current credential checks. Approval is not a warranty of performance or an endorsement of every task. You are responsible for quotations, agreements, legal compliance, safety and workmanship.
Quotes, agreements and payments
A bid or quote is an offer by the tradesperson, not a promise by TradieToday that work will occur. The parties must confirm scope, milestones, total price, GST treatment, payment schedule, variations and cancellation terms. Where a direct contract is made, it is ordinarily between the homeowner and tradesperson.
Do not treat a message claiming money is held in escrow or released by TradieToday as genuine without checking an explicitly supported, verified checkout flow. Availability of payment functionality may change; any payment-specific terms or fee disclosures must be presented before a charge. We do not promise that payments or escrow are currently available.
External directories and urgent work
Emergency-provider directories contain independent public business contacts, not necessarily members of TradieToday. Listings do not verify live availability, response time, licence status, insurance, price or the position of a technician. Approximate maps show suburb-level references rather than actual worker locations.
Do not wait for a website response in an emergency. For immediate threats to safety, call emergency services or your relevant utility and follow professional safety guidance.
Acceptable use and content
Do not post illegal, discriminatory, threatening, deceptive, defamatory, infringing or unsafe material; impersonate others; scrape or overload the website; circumvent authentication or moderation; send unsolicited marketing; or use the service to collect others’ private information without authorisation.
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant TradieToday a non-exclusive licence to host, display, reproduce and moderate content as reasonably necessary to operate and promote the relevant listing and service. Do not submit material you lack permission to share. We may remove harmful or non-compliant content, subject to applicable law.
Service availability and third-party links
We may change, improve, pause or withdraw features. Jobs, responses, search data and guidance may be incomplete or delayed. Editorial material is general information and not legal, engineering, building or emergency advice.
Third-party websites, Google sign-in, Clerk authentication and infrastructure providers operate under their own applicable terms. We are not responsible for a third party’s separate services merely because we link to them.
Australian consumer rights and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws. Where the law permits a limitation, our liability is limited only to the extent legally permitted.
We do not guarantee particular leads, results, job completion, suitability of a tradesperson or uninterrupted access. Claims between a homeowner and a tradesperson about the work are generally matters for those parties and relevant authorities, without reducing any legal responsibility TradieToday may itself have.
Privacy and complaints
Our Privacy policy explains how information is handled. For disputes, misleading listings, account concerns, privacy requests or suspected abuse, use the currently available route on Contact and help. A dedicated staffed support inbox has not yet been verified for publication; never send private credentials to an unverified contact.
These terms are intended to operate under applicable Australian law, including the laws of Victoria where relevant. Mandatory consumer protections and any other non-excludable rights continue to apply.
Changes
We may update these terms to reflect changing services and legal obligations. The date at the top shows the latest version. Material changes will be explained where practicable; continued use after appropriate notice may be subject to the updated terms to the extent the law permits.
